I read this a good decade ago but the story still sticks with me It is a very skilfully written fictional novel about the hardships that an Indian girl goes through in India which still rings true to this day and age luckily not uite so much which is a huge reliefIt is shocking that girls are treated like this but I am so happy to see that Hema Macherla had the courage and belief in herself to write this book and have it published It is definitely a hidden gem that is a must read for everyone It is shocking how women are treated everywhere in the world even in 2020 but seeing this is reassuring because we have come a long way but we have such a long road ahead of us still What saddens me most about this is the Ancient Hindu scripts and Vedas women were respected and honoured as godesses Seeing how things evolved is really uite devastating Hopefully as mankind becomes and intelligent we can revert back to treating women with complete respect and euality
